The DC Metro, and the rest of the North East, has been suffering from record high temperatures with little to no rain. As of today the DC Metro has had 7″ less rain then historical averages. Man is it hot and dry. Please don’t make it any worse for yourself, no telling when it is going end. Whether you call us or not (although we would prefer the call ;0 ) take the following steps to ensure your AC unit functions through this summer heat:
1. Check and change your filter. Not expensive and not time consuming. If brown change, if white it is OK.
2. Wipe down Out Door unit. Inspect your outside unit and make sure there is no debris around the grills.
3. Keep a consistent temperature on your thermostat. Don’t increase it when you go to work. Why? Because you will be lowering it when you return thus taking longer to cool not to mention cost you more money.
4. If you have an attic, make sure you have attic fans. If you have them make sure you hear them running. This will not only help your Air Conditioning but extend the life of your roof.
These are just a few tips to keep you comfortable. Vito is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. In fact, the call is free. Keep it cool.
