I even disconnected the toilet supply line and opened the valve but no water came out. in the basement, I was able to view 2 gate valve through the joists. customer told me he was opening and closing them recently. I advised him that it is possible that the valve failed and that is why water can't pass through. in that case I told him we can replace the valves by cutting through the basement bathroom ceiling. if the problem is not the valves then we would have to explore different options. customer will call back to schedule when he wants the work to be done.

arrived on site , the customer advised me that they strongly believe that their booster pumps are causing the hot water to come out on the cold when funning water. the maintenance tech explained to me that their booster pumps would make noise and unusual vibrations. upon further investigation, I observed the pumps to be loud in sound and vibrating, but however, the pressure guages were not fluxurating. when the pumps were off, the psi didn't drop. when the pumps ls turned on, the psi boosted up. tested the recirculating line that's located on the 10th floor to see if the temperature would change. the temperature quickly changed when the pump was not on. but when I isolated the valves and turned the pump off, the temperature didn't change. mention that the check valve is bad on the recirculating line. I also advised the customer that the possible cause of this problem is a failing o ring or failing shower cartridges that cause the cross-over in the building. I advised the customer t
